Okraglak

the ritual poultry slaughterhouse from the early 20th century

On Plac Nowy, also called "the Jewish square", a trading square is located, as before the war. A round trading hall, known as okraglak, is located in the centre.

It was built in 1900, and in 1927 it was rented to the Jewish commune that designed the building for a ritual poultry slaughterhouse. During World War II the previous function of the trading hall was brought back to okraglak, such function it has performed up to this day.
