Arrival at Cracow should not be a problem to anybody. This is because the city is an important railway, road and aerial junction.

By plane

The John Paul II International Airport in Cracow is situated at the outskirts of the city (15 km from the centre). It offers direct connections to many European cities, as well as beyond the borders of Europe. The detailed flight schedule is available at www.lotnisko-balice.pl.

At the airport there are: exchange offices, cash dispenser, BPH SA branch, a restaurant and a cafe on the mezzanine of the passenger terminal, a cafe on the viewing terrace, a duty-free shop in the hall of international departures, 24-hour car park, Rent A Car.

Transportation between the airport and the city centre:

  • Municipal bus line 208 (from Nowy Kleparz) and 192 (from Bohaterow Getta Square, Rondo Mogilskie, Central Railway Station). The MPK zone tickets are required in the buses, and the drive time is ca. 35 min.
  • Quick railway line from the PKP Railway Station Krakow Glowny. The cost of the 15-minute drive is 3.80 PLN (statutory discounts are applicable). Tickets can be purchased in the train that shuttles on average twice an hour from 4.00 a.m. to the late night hours.

The city has direct railway connections with all major cities in Poland. Apart from local connections, Cracow has also railway connections with Berlin, Budapest, Bucharest, Hamburg, Kiev, Lvov, Prague, Vienna, Zilina. The detailed schedule of trains is available at www.pkp.pl.

The PKP Railway Station Krakow Glowny is located in the city centre, in a historic building at Lubicz Street. At the station there is the Bus Station and a shopping centre. From here, using the municipal transport or taxi, you can get to any nook of the city.

The Regional Bus Station in Cracow is located in the city centre, and it neighbours on the central railway station. The buses of the national and regional transport depart from the stations at Wita Stwosza Square or Cystersow Street 15, while the regular international buses depart from Wita Stwosza Square. In front of the building of the station there is a taxi rank.
