how much does municipal transport cost
In Cracow 200 trams and 439 buses are available on business days. The trams run on 25 daily lines, while buses on 122 daily lines and 8 night lines.
Markings of the lines
Current schedule
The tram lines are marked with one- and two-digit numbers:
- 0 - 39 - regular lines
- 71 - 79 - substitute lines running during repairs of tram routes
Bus lines, on the contrary, are marked with three-digit numbers:
- 100 - 199 - municipal regular lines
- 200 - 299 - suburban lines
- 400 - 499 - lines running in peak hours of passenger traffic
- 500 - 599 - express lines
- 600 - 699 - night lines running from 11.00 p.m. – 4.00 a.m.
- 700 - 799 - substitute lines running during street repairs
- 800 - 899 - lines provided to order
Types of tickets
One-time tickets - they are applicable within the city borders of Cracow in the daytime on regular and express lines
- normal - 2.50 PLN (+ 0.50 PLN by the driver)
- municipal reduced - 1.35 PLN ( + 0.25 PLN by the driver)
- statutory reduced - 1.25 PLN ( + 0.25 PLN by the driver)
Zone ticket - the ticket is valid in the city and outside its boundaries (entitles to a trip in a suburban bus - lines marked with numbers from 200 to 299)
- one-time ticket
- normal - 2.50 PLN (+ 0.50 PLN by the driver)
- reduced - 1.25 PLN ( + 0.25 PLN by the driver)
- 24-hour ticket - valid for 24 hours from the moment of punching (the ticket is punched only once)
- normal - 11 PLN
- statutory reduced - 5.50 PLN
Time ticket - the ticket is valid within the city borders of Cracow, it enables travelling with
changes, allowing to continue the journey with breaks, provided that the whole journey does not exceed the time stated
on the ticket (time tickets are punched only once, the number of changes does not matter). 
- one-hour ticket - valid only in the daytime
- normal - 3.10 PLN
- municipal reduced - 1.65 PLN
- statutory reduced - 1.55 PLN
- 24-hour ticket - valid for 24 hours from the moment of punching (the ticket is punched only once)
- normal - 10.40 PLN
- municipal reduced - 5.70 PLN
- statutory reduced - 5.20 PLN
- 48-hour ticket
- normal - 18.80 PLN
- municipal reduced - 11.50 PLN
- statutory reduced - 9.40 PLN
- 72-hour ticket
- normal - 25 PLN
- municipal reduced - 15.60 PLN
- statutory reduced - 12.50 PLN
Night ticket - it is required in bus lines marked with numbers from 600 to 699.
- normal - 5 PLN (+ 0.50 PLN by the driver)
- reduced – 2.50 PLN (+ 0.25 PLN by the driver)
Family ticket - 10.40 PLN
It may be used by parents (both or one) with at least one child aged up to 16 years, it is valid on Saturdays and Sundays. The family ticket should be punched at the beginning of the first ride, full name of an adult should be written on it. The ticket is valid with the ID of a parent, in all lines in the daytime public transport within the city borders.
One-time group ticket - valid in the daytime within the City of Cracow, on regular and quick lines.

- normal - 21 PLN
- municipal reduced - 12.50 PLN
- statutory reduced - 10.50 PLN
- up to 20 people
- normal - 24 PLN
- municipal reduced - 14.50 PLN
- statutory reduced - 12 PLN
Periodical tickets - they are valid for a period of at least one month
Luggage fee
As of 25 April 2007 in municipal transport within the Municipal District of Cracow, hand luggage is free of any charge. Transport of animals is also free of charge.
Additional fees
- For a ride of one person without a valid ticket -100 PLN + the amount for the ticket
- For transport of items not allowed in public transportation - 75 PLN + the amount for ticket
- For causing a stop or detour of a transport vehicle without any valid reason - 375 PLN
In the case of immediate payment of the additional fee or within 7 days from the date of issuing the document charging this fee at the latest - the amount of additional fees is reduced by 30%.
